On Saturday, May 2, the Brooklyn Food Conference will bring together a uniquely broad and diverse community of activists to discuss and learn more about the critical food issues of our time and what role we as neighbors can play to address them. We are working toward a food system that brings healthy, sustainable food to everyone.
With a full day of workshops, plenaries, kids’ programming and exhibits, there is something for everyone at this FREE event. Speakers include Dan Barber of Blue Hill, Anna Lappe of the Small Planet Institute, Raj Patel of Stuffed and Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System, and LaDonna Redmond of Chicago’s Institute for Community Resources Development and many others!
Co-sponsors include: Park Slope Food Coop, Caribbean Women’s Health Association, World Hunger Year, Brooklyn Rescue Mission, and Brooklyn’s Bounty, and over 150 community organization partners.
Over 2,000 people will attend at John Jay HS (237 7th Ave) and PS 321 (180 7th Ave) in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
